Fortnite's Magnifying Glass loading screen challenge is an unusual one, asking you to search where the magnifying glass sits at the Treasure Map loading screen for one of the game's many Fortnite Weekly Challenges.
Completing the Magnifying Glass loading screen task will give you additional XP to help go towards your many Season 8 rewards.
Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. That said, there are still plenty of other Fortnite Challenges as part of the Fortnite Season 9 Battle Pass, with our guides including Fortnite Clock locations, Wind Turbine locations and holographic Tomato head, Durr Burger head and giant Dumpling head locations. For a limited time, there is also the 14 Days of Summer event - which features tasks such as finding Beach Party locations and Giant Beach Ball locations.

How to find the Magnifying Glass Treasure Map loading screen location explained
For this Week 3 Challenge, you are tasked with the following:
- Search where the magnifying glass sits at the Treasure Map loading screen (1 total, 5 Battle Stars)
The task itself is a bit of a new one, for a change. It requires you to first find the right loading screen it's talking about, then figure out what the location actually is, and then visit it in a game of Battle Royale (or any competitive, non-custom mode that has you play PvP on that map).
The map in question is this one, the Treasure Map loading screen unlocked when you reach Tier 10 of the Season 8 Battle Pass.
Take a closer look and you'll see the magnifying glass resting over a specific circle of trees, near a distinctive rock formation - that's the location we've describe for you in the section above!

The order 1886 xbox one. Head into a game - we recommend one of the large-team battles that split the game into two big teams, rather than smaller individual squads, as it makes it pretty easy to move around one half of the map without fear of being killed.
Go to the right spot, wait for the secret battle star to appear, and interact with it as you always do in treasure map-style challenges - but remember you need to finish the game properly for it to count!
Get yourself killed or wait to die to the storm as it closes in, and then the challenge will be marked as completed - just don't quit early or you'll need to do it again.

There’s a new challenge in the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale for Season 8, Week 3 that should also feel very familiar to players — it’s a fusion of two things we’re all used to doing.
Week 3 began Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Eastern, about 90 minutes later than usual, and even more delayed than Week 2. We predicted that treasure map challenges would return in Season 8, and here in Week 3, they have returned … sort of.
The new challenge, to “search where the magnifying glass sits on the treasure map loading screen,” basically combines the traditional treasure map challenge format with the Discovery or Snowfall weekly secret loading screen format.
You have to unlock a specific loading screen, and that image has a clue leading to a secret battle star. It’s only slightly more difficult than other treasure map challenges, but still, all you have to do is land at a specific destination to claim the prize.
The loading screen itself is a Tier 10 prize on the Season 8 premium battle pass. It’s technically called “Isle of Treasure,” and based on the context clues, it looks like a picture of Blackheart’s desk on his pirate ship. It’s clearly a map of the Fortnite island drawn in tradition pirate style. The magnifying glass is placed over a specific circle of trees in the southwestern quadrant of the map.
For a more precise location based on the real island map, look here.
This particular location is directly east of Frosty Flights and southwest of Polar Peak. If you zoom in on the in-game map, you can just faintly see the circle of trees. The battle star is on the pedestal underneath the ice statue that looks like the Raven skin. Often, a chest will spawn directly below this location. There’s also a zipline just northwest of this area that goes up to Polar Peak, so that’s where players should go once they’ve claimed this battle star.
There really isn’t much overlap between this challenge and the others for Week 3, but it’s a good idea to head east, where it’s possible to visit Fatal Fields and Sunny Springs in a single match and to search chests at Fatal Fields. Also, be sure to use trap slot items and focus on dealing damage to opponents with headshot damage.
Happy hunting.
Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 8, Week 4 should begin the morning of Thursday, March 21.
X marks the spot in this treasure hunt challenge.
This challenge is a little different from some of the ones we’ve seen recently. You’ll need to be able to see the Treasure Map loading screen to find this Battle Star.
The location you’re looking for is between Polar Peak and Frosty Flights. There’s a little statue on the treasure map that’s surrounded by trees.
If you head Northeast from Frosty Flights you’ll a circle of trees with three statues in the middle. The Battle Star is at the feet of the largest statue. Easy peasy!

Magnifying Glass On Treasure Map
In previous seasons of Fortnite, we were used to seeing challenges that involved finding a treasure map on the island and following its instructions to track down some hidden Battle Stars, though they haven't been featured in recent times. This entry in the Fortnite Battle Pass Challenges for Season 8 Week 3 harks back to those days, but this time you have to search where the magnifying glass sits on the Treasure Map loading screen. Some players might find this ridiculously easy, but for others this may be a bit puzzling, especially if you haven't reached the right Battle Pass tier level yet. Read on, and we'll show you how to do it.

The Fortnite Treasure Map loading screen is unlocked once you hit tier 10 of the Battle Pass, and if you've already done that then maybe you won't have noticed it, ignored it, or rotated it out for something else in the last couple of weeks. You can check out all your loading screens in the Locker tab by opening your collection from the bottom row. Find the uncommon 'Isle of Treasure' loading screen with the tagline 'The search is on…' and make it full screen by pressing in the left stick for a closer look.

Looking closely at the Fortnite Treasure Map loading screen, you should be able to identify that under the magnifying glass sits a circle of trees with a statue in the middle of it. Applying that to the actual game map points to a location southwest of Polar Peak, so that's where you should make your way.

On the border between grid B8 and C8 on the map, directly southwest of Polar Peak, you'll find a circle of trees in the snowy region with various statues stood inside. Approach the main statue on a raised plinth in the middle, and the hidden Battle Stars required to complete this challenge should appear, ready for collection.
